Microscale gas chromatography ($\mu \mathrm{GC}$) is crucial for field applications of analytical chemistry such as environmental monitoring. The position, area, and shape of peaks in a $\mu \mathrm{GC}$ signal determine the chemical makeup of the sampled environment. During my internship at the [Center for Wireless Integrated MicroSensing & Systems](https://wims2.clubexpress.com/) $(\mathrm{WIMS}^{2})$ in Summer 2022 under the supervision of [Yutao Qin](https://wims2.clubexpress.com/content.aspx?page_id=22&club_id=887280&module_id=373789) and [Yogesh Gianchandani](https://gianchandani.engin.umich.edu/), I worked on wavelet-based methods for characterizing these properties of $\mu \mathrm{GC}$ signals.
